2018-10-29

GENERAL MOTORS ISSUED A recall Thursday for more than 1 million of its pickup trucks and SUVs.

The automaker is recalling the vehicles worldwide because of power steering problems, according to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The No.1 car manufacturer in America cited a temporary loss of power steering as the main concern.

Vehicles affected by the recall include 2015 models of the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe and GMC Sierra and Yukon. Most of the vehicles being recalled are in the United States.

GM's spokesman Tom Wilkinson said the automaker has received reports of about 30 crashes due to the temporary loss of power-assisted steering. Two injuries have been reported but no deaths, according to Reuters.
